Brick proxy

Privacy policy

Last updated

Brick proxy (“we”, “our”, “the app”) is an iPhone VPN client that routes your traffic through a proxy you supply. We run no servers, offer no account and collect nothing about you. This policy explains what that means in practice.

1. Introduction

The app wraps every connection on your iPhone into a SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy that you enter yourself. There are no Brick servers in the path and there never will be, so for the core function of the app there is simply nowhere for your data to be sent.

2. Information we collect

From the app: none. No account, no sign-up, no identifiers, no usage statistics, no crash reports. Nothing is transmitted to us, so nothing is collected and later deleted — there is no server of ours to receive it.

What the app stores on your device:

Using this website or writing to support involves the small amount of data described in sections 7 and 8.

3. How your information is used

4. Data storage and security

Local only. Proxy configurations live on your iPhone as a JSON record in the app’s App Group container, so that the app and its tunnel extension can both read them. They are protected by the file protection iOS applies; the app adds no encryption of its own and does not use the Keychain.

No sync. They are not copied to iCloud and not shared between your devices — there is no sync feature. They leave the device only when they are sent to the proxy you entered, which is what a proxy login is for.

Passwords live on this device only. We never see them.

The log stays on the device. The app writes to the system log and its network core writes to standard error. There is no export, no upload and no crash reporter, so there is no path by which a log could reach us. Domain names are replaced with a token before anything is written, so your browsing history does not end up there; IP addresses and ports do appear.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, trade or rent your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We hold nothing from the app, so there is nothing of that kind to share.

6. Proxy servers

The app connects through HTTP and SOCKS5 proxies that you supply. We do not provide, sell, host or recommend proxies.

Whoever runs your proxy carries your traffic and can see it to the same extent any network operator could. What they log and what they do with it is between you and them; read their terms. You use third-party proxies at your own risk, and we are not responsible for their speed, security or legality.

7. Checking a proxy

When you ask the app to check a proxy, it opens a connection through that proxy and asks a public address-lookup service what IP it sees. Some such services also report the country, city and network operator of that address.

Because the request travels through the proxy, what the service sees is the proxy’s exit address, not your phone’s. It may log that address under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.

The same check sends a probe to your proxy to find out whether it carries UDP; that one goes no further than the proxy. The check runs only when you ask for it, and never in the background.

8. This website and email

br-ck.app is served by Cloudflare, which receives your IP address, user agent and the page you requested in order to answer it, and keeps request records briefly for operations and security. These pages load no fonts, scripts or images from anywhere else, set no cookies, and contain no analytics.

Mail to support@br-ck.app is delivered to a mailbox hosted by Proton and used for nothing but answering you. Send only what you would want read — in particular, never send a proxy password. We cannot use it and do not want it.

9. Your rights and choices

10. Third-party services

No third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks or tracking pixels are included in the app.

11. Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and collects nothing from anyone.

12. Changes to this policy

This page carries a date. When the app’s behaviour changes, the page changes with it.
